Caffe Themselves

In the corner from Jogno 3-ga sits a popular and bustling cafe, Caffe Themselves. Despite its somewhat isolated location, the multistory cafe boasts 2 floors of seating so as to accommodate the crowd. The Cafe is located near the cheonggyecheon stream as well, making it all the better to take advantage of its ₩2000 discount on takeout drinks and have a nice hot cuppa while taking a stroll along the beautiful stream when the weather is cool.

Upon entering the cafe, the first thing that definitely caught our eye (other than the crowd) was the huge selection of pastries and house-roasted coffee beans available for sale! There are also free samples of the various beans which they sell so you can try them all before you decide which to buy.

At the cafe, we ordered an iced vanilla latte and an iced americano - both of which were really refreshing and delicious. However, the real star of the show was the strawberry shortcake which was light and fluffy, as well as the salted caramel scone which was dense but remained moist.

Another interesting thing about the cafe is the big difference in terms of the decor between their seating floors and the ground floor where they take orders and prepare the food and drinks. While the ground floor is decked in a chic industrial styled look, its upper floors were more casual and simple - almost like your run-of-the-mill coffee shop or eatery. In all, we really loved how everything about the cafe was clean, comfortable, and uncomplicated.

This cafe was also particularly memorable for us because it was the first time that our Korean friend (all decked out in his formal wear after going for an interview) joined us for our weekly cafe study sessions! Although we were supposed to be studying, we ended up chatting most of the time and going for a nice dinner nearby but it was nonetheless still a day well spent!
